1. Eligibility & Registration
Your chosen products must enter at least one (1) of the categories of the Special Diet Awards. You must also confirm that these products will be available, in the current formulation, in June 2026.
To be eligible to enter, entrants must ensure their products comply with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, as developed by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), particularly in relation to any health or nutritional claims made on packaging. This includes compliance with standards for food labelling and adherence to general and high-level health or nutrition claim requirements where applicable.
Entrants must ensure that all claims such as ‘dairy-free’, ‘nut-free’, ‘low salt’, ‘low sugar’, ‘plant-based’, ‘low FODMAP’, ‘gluten-free’, ‘cholesterol-lowering’, and other special diet-related claims are truthful and not misleading, in accordance with the relevant consumer protection laws. Entrants are required to disclose to us the specific claims used on their packaging and provide evidence of compliance with FSANZ standards and other relevant regulations. Submit your chosen products along with a high-quality image of each product into our entry form. Images should be on a white or transparent background and must not exceed 2MB in size.
2. Entry period
Entries open 10am on Monday, 2 February and close at 5pm on Friday, 20 February 2026.
3. Product Categories
- Cholesterol Lowering – is eaten as part of a diet low in saturated fat and containing 3g beta-glucan per day, plus the product contains oat bran, wholegrain oats and/or wholegrain barley and provides at least 1g per serving of beta-glucan from those.
- Gluten-free – contains no ingredients containing or derived from gluten.
- Nut-free – contains no ingredient containing or derived from nuts and isn’t produced where other products contain nuts.
- Dairy-free – Contains no dairy products.
- Plant-based – Based on plant foods and excludes meat, poultry and fish.
- Low salt – contains no more sodium than 120mg/100mL for liquid food; or 120 mg/100g for solid food
- Low sugar – contains no more sugars than 2.5g/100 mL for liquid food; or 5g/100 g for solid food.
- Low FODMAP – carries a FODMAP Friendly logo issued by the FODMAP Friendly certification (FODMAP Accreditation) programme.
6. Winners notified
Winners will be notified by end of April, with winners being published to our website and in magazine on 1 June 2026.
7. Amplify your win
Winners are given the opportunity to purchase our logo for use on packaging or marketing materials to further promote your win. Our team will contact winners to discuss promotion options.
